Daniella Clarke's trajectory as a denim pioneer is an amazing tale. The Frankie B. sensibility -edgy and unabashedly sexy for the body-confident woman -was born out of Daniella's time during the late 1990s while touring with her guitarist husband Gilby Clarke (with whom she has a daughter, Frankie, the inspiration behind the line's moniker). Her collection embodies this aspirational lifestyle.
Daniella launched Frankie B. in 1999, and its authenticity and legitimacy as the glam gal's go-to denim collection was quickly solidified. Daniella catapulted Frankie B. into the quintessential low-rise denim brand during its early days, and is responsible for establishing California as the premiere production location for premium denim.
Given her acute denim acumen, Daniella was eventually asked to resurrect the iconic denim brand Dittos, a favorite from her youth: Her first collection debuted in 2007 to wide acclaim from denim-hungry women.
And the fashion industry is just as enthusiastic as her customers, for helping to change the denim landscape: Israeli-born Daniella- who met her husband while on vacation in L.A. with her family -was awarded the MAFI Fashion Innovator of the Year award in 2004 for contributions to the fashion industry, and in 2007, she received a Media Award from Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization for her support of the charity.
And Daniella comes from a long line of style-savvy, headstrong women: Her mother instilled in her this mantra: "If the clothes you're wearing don't make you feel and look better, then what's the point?"
