In 2006 the Louis Bolle brand was acquired by Le Bonheur Groupe of Geneva, Switzerland. This company is headed by two Swiss Nationals who have decades of experience in the Swiss watch industry. Most of their watches are assembled in Neuchatel, Switzerland and marketed under a variety of names. As of this writing, it appears that only the Balmer brand of watches say "Swiss Made" on them, because they use Swiss movements in addition to the case, crystal and other components. Most of the other brands use one of various Chinese-made movements, which are apparently are among the higher-quality ones on the market, with a specific movement being selected depending on the "complications", or features, offered on a particular model of watch.
Use of a high-quality Chinese movement is a reasonable economic decision in the world today. Both the Swiss and Chinese movement makers of today use computerized electronic cutters for small parts with much of the cost difference being involved in hand-finishing and cosmetics (which ironically could be done more cheaply in China).
My experience with many of these various watches is that the Balmer brand is the Limited Edition pure Swiss line. Louis Bolle is a premium brand with lots of emphasis on quality materials and Quality Control testing. Wohler, Eberle, and other brands marketed by this group are generally of acceptable quality, excellent visually, and marketing and repair services are offered in the US by Always At Market, located in Carrolton, Texas. The most recent lines added appear to be 32 Degrees and Jacot. I have no direct knowledge whether these are manufactured by outside companies or not.
Purely as an opinion, it seems that they are genuinely trying to build Brand Respect and the value offered is usually excellent. I strongly prefer a Genuine lesser-known product to a Gucci fake. I have a Rolex and I wish I had never bought it. I seldom wear it. Most people assume it is a fake, just because there are so many fakes out there. A nice Balmer with an exhibition case-back showing the movement would be more interesting anyway. I would predict that these watches will sell for higher and higher prices as people discover the value offered.
