Faberge was founded in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1842 by Carl Faberge. Faberge instantly became famous for its Imperial Easter Eggs that were made for the last two Russian Tsars. The Russian revolution closed the company and was finally relaunched in 1990. Faberge is a collectors dream and can be found in very high-end jewelry stores as well as museums. Even royalty such as the Queen of England has a collection of Faberge pieces. Faberge has a very unique style which comes predominately from European historic styles such as Rococo, Empire, and Renaissance and uses historic techniques such as enamelling, engraving, guilloche, and embossing in order to achieve its colorful and bright designs. Faberge is most likely the only international brand which still applys old traditional techniques all under one roof in Germany.
