Not All Sample Sale Sites are Created Equally



There’ve been sites like MySpace or eBay, but eventually they all start to die down. Why do such great ideas fall to second and third place before disappearing completely? Ease of use. I mean to say, how easy and natural it is to use their site. A lot of sites are becoming outdated, but are afraid to stray away from whatever system has been holding it altogether. Sites are even trying to get you to pay just to enter it. This generation does not think in “pay walls,” we can’t justify something being inaccessible. This is the world we all live in now. A great example of this is buying clothes online. We’re no longer restricted to designer purse sales in the store. The entire model for buying clothes online is just window-shopping through your monitor. If we wanted to window shop, wouldn’t we just go to the malls themselves? If we’re surfing around the internet then we’d obviously have the time to. We go online to find exactly what we want and for the cheapest. It’s the free market exampled before us. The problems we face, if we move past the current online store model, is how easy is it to use and how easy is it to use? A good example of how to effectively model this is www.modnique.com. It’s a site that aggregates sample sale sites from boutique stores and places them on a single page in order of newest. If this were where the site stopped, then it would still be pretty impressive. Luckily it doesn’t. The site also pulls together categories for you to sift through to find your own personal gold. It lists within the categories by popularity. A really great, democratic system that helps you keep some cash in your wallet.

We’re a new generation of shoppers, and the world should take note from sites like Modnique. Really great models like this serve both as help and inspiration for someone trying to keep up in the new world and it’s new economy.
